A commission for the Guardian Review Illustrating an article by Penelope Lively about old age.  I thought I'd share the initial rough draws as well.

People's Assembly

This is a a job I have just completed for the PCS. It's about he People's Assembly. Here are the two roughs that I worked on and the final illustration. 

Screen Prints for Airport Residency

I have been working on some screen prints for the residency at London Luton Airport. I drew on true-grain film at the airport and then used these to expose the screens. This means that the marks on the screen end up being very close to the original pencil marks.

Spatialising Illustration Symposium

I have had a paper accepted at the Spatialising Illustration Symposium. It's about the Luton Airport Residency. I'm just in the process of getting the together for the presentation.

… the images that inhabit time – the recursive time of rereading – are historical, in a peculiar way. Being recursive, they flow with time yet also arrest it… They are allegories punched out of time waiting… Chronology is grasped and analyzed in a spatial image…

Residency at London Luton Airport

I have been given a really great opportunity to have a Drawing Residency at London Luton Airport. The residency will last approximately 3 months and I will be visiting the airport as regularly as I can. I have been given access to all areas of the airport (supervised) of course. 

These types of spaces have always interested me - those which seem so familiar and yet so alien. You feel like I stranger. Here are some of the sketchbook drawings I have been working on so far. The Residency will culminate in an exhibition at the Airport.
